I cutout DDs kuspuk last night, using the pattern we bought in her size.
I am now going to draft a pattern in my size :th
The handmade patterns cost $25, hence my needing to do it this way.

I had to google it. Pullover hoodie with a gathered flared bottom. Got it. What are you making them out of and will they have fir?

Or is it the drees type?

:D

Good luck!!!

Look for the Poppy Passion Poppy Vine in Turquoise.

Since DD is Yupik, I plan to make us matching kuspuks every year.
Men were that same thing for ceremonies minus the skirt, and its called a snow shirt.
Planning on a family set for pictures once adoption is final.

Here is an old pattern photo.

And here is a cute write up on what a kuspuk is.
You will learn much about the way the natives relate things in this post

Good luck!
Maybe not. Pulling out DHS shirt pattern so I can work with its size to....already made a mess of the first attempt.
Good thing its just freezer paper!

Ok, so Dhs shirt pattern made it easier. The sleeves, front and back are done.
Flounce, cuffs and pocket will be a cinch.
Hood will be tricky.

Good luck! Can't wait to see finished pics. I bet they turn out great. I love the style!
