I've got some interesting ones myself, but what I don't wanna hear about is how wrong they are from someone else that is just as or more wrong, than them,if you know what I mean. I've got this idea that when DH passes over.......(heart issues), that me and my sister can become like those 2 old sisters on the Waltons, who sell Pappy's recipe. We don't have a still, but Daddy sure made some pretty mean wine in his time. But sister has strange ways. I think I can handle them though, cuz I understand her.....I don't agree with it all, but I understand. But then again, I suppose I'm a bit much myself.

I think we're all a bit off from "standard issue" around here anyway :lol: I can deal with most of my sisters quirks, it's the drug habit and using people so much that gets me :/ And I'm still ticked she ditched her kid for that lifestyle :smack

Rhoda, that sounds like a cool idea if your sister is up for it :D

I just wanna know why we got stuck with the crazy female siblings. I don't get the sisterly love thang everyone else does *sigh* I tell ya what, let's make a deal, you be my sister, and I'll give my sister to your sister and we can all be happy :lol:
Oh that I could, I surely would! :lol: They can be happy in their misery together, and I can have a great role model for a sister ;)

I am going to do a 'quick' update, while we still have internet. DH has run out of un-enjoyment, and here in MI it isn't easy to get an extension, especially in DH's profession. :/

We are pretty close to finished on the kitchen remodel. I went ahead and snapped some pictures, and will post the befores as well, so it will be easier to see the changes (please excuse any messy spots). Also, we went over our budget. :( We had to do some extra things we hadn't planned for, so the total cost was $715, not $600. Bummer!

I've been doing a lot of canning and dehydrating. Mostly getting the freezer emptied so we have room for pig girl #1, who is HUGE now. She tried to chew through the electric/reg. fence to attack DH, so her time has come (weird too, because she still comes to the fence when I call her, for ear scritches :hu ) I have been learning how to make some 'new' things from scratch, so now the ONLY thing we still have to buy right now from the store is milk. I've been pretty sick for a good long while. Went to the Specialist, who gave me a new script (that she said was "Almost all natural" :rolleyes: ), which made me violently ill. I decided to try some natural alternatives for part of my issues - zero energy - and have improved greatly. :clap Changed meds myself (as calls to the doc go unreturned) and have relieved most of the really serious issues. Will be very glad when all this is sorted out!

Here are the pictures:

This is the right side of the kitchen, at the beginning of the work;

Left side after (please note the table, covered in Axis & Allies, which I think the guys will NEVER finish! :lol: );

Here are a couple neat things DH made for me.
First up, the Cookbook Nook, built into the island;

This is a spice holder he made out of some left over scraps from when he made new drawer fronts from an old cabinet door (which reminds me - I bet you can't figure out which two drawers he built by looking at the pictures - they match perfectly!);

If we manage to keep our internet, or when we get it back, I will post pictures of the new entrance to the kitchen. I didn't take before pictures, because we didn't plan to change it. Once we took down the drywall, we saw SERIOUS issues and DH had to replace the whole thing. Well, not letting an opportunity for awesomeness go to waste, I talked him in to changing things up a bit, and it is almost finished and looks AMAZING! I love my hubby!

As a close, this is a picture I took last week, out my front door. This is why I envy all of you who can play in the dirt already! :lol:

P.S. The weatherman was nice enough to point out that we are, today, 54 degrees colder than we were on this day last year. Thanks guy, I really did NOT need to have that rubbed in my face!

Ugh. I am staring out at 8 inches of fresh white stuff outside, with at least half a foot more due by Friday :barnie

I forgot to say I made soap!! :celebrate I found a simple (read as: me-proof :p ) recipe that didn't require a scale to weigh ingredients, and looked really ugly in the picture of the finished product. My end product looks just like the picture! :lol: I tried a little piece that I broke off while cutting it, and it made my hands nice and soft, and didn't leave a filmy residue, which is awesome :weee Now I want to make some more!

The six baby chicks are doing good. Did I say DH brought some home a couple weeks ago? He did. I want 6-8 chickens plus a rooster. We now have 19 hens and a rooster and, when I mention the need to 'thin the herd' I get excuses from DH. :rolleyes: Guess I better start digging up more egg recipes! Found one today for egg pizza :drool It looks yummy! Of-course, I can always make hundreds of eclairs :drool I love eclairs, or eclair cake. Man, I'm hungry all of a sudden :D

Got all my seedlings but one planted and sitting in the indoor greenhouse. :celebrate Hopefully, in another couple weeks, this white stuff will LEAVE and I'll be able to put them out in the big greenhouse :fl It was 15 degrees when I went out for last check last night - had to break ice in the cows water (thanks to Ice Cream, who yanked out the heater a month ago and chewed it up so it doesn't work any more :he )and DH had to chip ice out of the chickens waterer this morning. Spring? Yeah, right! :p
