When my Great-Grandmother was alive and I lived with her. Every time I had a sore throat or a cough she used to fix a homemade cough syrup from honey and a couple other ingredients. I think lemon juice was one and brown sugar was another but I can't remember.
Does anyone know about homemade cough syrup?

Right now the only thing that bothers me is my allergies. I was only asking about the cough syrup just in case someone else on here had a family member that grew up in the early 1900's.

I would try it but I'm not into drinking the strong powerful stuff. I just like Mike's Harder Lemonade, Seagram's Wine Coolers or Smirnoff Ice.

I was sick a few weeks ago. I took elderberry syrup that I made by simmering dried elderberries, straining them, and added honey. That was for the crud I had. For the cough and sore throat, I took Kahlua. :thumbsup
