You do some awesome work. First thing i thought about when i saw the walnut rocker you built for the first grandchild and all the grands thereafter.........one of these days there will be a hellacious fight over that one little rocker.

Amazing bed and I love the faces on the wood! You asked what is the strangest thing you've ever seen in wood. When I was maybe 10 or 11 years old, some huge eucalyptus trees got felled near where we lived and we went and helped my dad saw them up to drag home for fire wood. One day we cut through a sizeable piece and my dad showed me a bean shape hollow space in the wood, with the dried out remains of an insect in there… It looked to me like a wasp. I've been wondering since what it was and how it got in there (there was no evidence of a tunnel), enclosed in that little hollow place inside the tree trunk. I wish I had a pic of it to show you. It was so strange!

Side note: I went to look at a rental house in a nearby town and the landlord's wood carving workshop was just across the road. It reminded me of you and your wood work He made the doors. The walls are very old! He told us the building used to be a slaughter yard, many years ago.

Very cool - I've not done and architecture carving and never done any stone carvings ever - but who is the Chap that's carved?

I'm not sure who he carved on the door, but he did mention doing some carvings of an old king here, that may be him. Ireland's history is very long and very interesting. I've barely scratched the surface so far.
