What did you do in the garden today?

I was just out checking my garden. The seeds I planted a few days ago are starting to sprout. I planted peas, beets, and broccoli, and three tomato plants. My self-started cucumber plants have a lot of flowers.
Tomatoes are looking good, and okra and peppers are still producing from the spring garden. We didn't get much of anything from the spring garden, but the fall garden seems to be doing better. I also have 2 squash plants and a watermelon plant growing, plus 2 tomato plants that are growing out in the old chicken bed (the squash, watermelon, MANY cucumber plants and three tomato plants are all growing without me planting them.)

I watered my volunteer mustard and squash plants. I have an interesting squash. I had yellow crook neck, yellow lemon and zucchini squash planted close together. I let the vines go, the squash got big before the vines died. This is what came up.

Picked some maters yesterday. Need to pick more. Found a horn worm husk covered with little wasp eggs....that worm was sucked dry as a mummy! SO glad I didn't find that worm first and kill it, now I have a whole crop of little horn worm killers that will hatch off that husk.
Found an army worm on the maters...gave that to the flock and he was consumed in less than a second.
My Agribon row covers now need covered with deer netting due to my ornery tom cat, who loves to roll and play on them, shredding them in the process. My romaine and bok choi are sprouting fine under there, but need watered...we are having a dry Sept.

Beekissed, have you tried citrus on those row covers. I've read that cats don't like citrus and to put orange or lemon rinds out to keep they out of an area. Never tried but -- may work.
I still have a lovely grape type tomato throwing out fruit. Rarely get any to the house because I eat as I pick.

I don't know if I want to pick it and eat it or let it mature and keep the seed for spring.

It's raining here now. Bee, maybe it'll be at your house tomorrow. I'm really glad it started raining or I'd be watering tonight. We got 4" of rain a few days after hurricane Irma, and nothing since. But I have peas sprouted, transplanted 2 tomato plants, 3 watermelon vines, and two mint plants. I also planted some dill around my tomatoes. It might be too late for dill but they're in a box I can easily convert to a greenhouse if needed.
@baymule , I think I'd save the seeds and see if it will come up again next year. I wonder... It might not grow true since it's a cross??

Garden?? Oh that place out back with all the weeds? I haven't spent much time back there... But I have tomatoes trying to ripen, some pumpkins and squash ripening also. Already thinking about next year. Simplifying!
