Making a big ole pot of garden healing cabbage soup to can. This is one of my favorites. I followed this recipe except I made a tripple batch. I also subbed in 3 Tbs rendered chopper pig fat / 3 Tbs rendered chicken fat / 3 Tbs olive oil. Also added 1 gallon filtered spring water from out back my property and 2 guarts of home made chicken broth. Everything but salt and pepper, chicken bullon, came from our property.

Wife likes the soup, If it wasn't good, she would say so. its kind of sweet tasting, you can definitely tell it's fall cabbage and got frozen because it's sweet.

Yeilded 9 quarts plus about 1/2 pint. 7 quarts are in the pressure canner, we just eat 1 quart and I'm letting the last quart and 1/2 pint cool off some, before putting into the refrigerator. We'll get several meals out of this :)

I would have got more if the deer wouldn't have eaten most of it.
