Shipped eggs re definitely hit or miss. I ordered 6 show quality cochin bantam eggs once.. Five of the six hatched and I was thrilled - but not a single one was a cochin, lol!

Yes, they are shipped eggs and they are a gamble... And a pain in the rear to hatch! I set 18 so I'm hoping to at least get enough chicks from them to make up a breeding pair or three.

FEM.. Wow! People can be so dishonest! Years ago I bought some 2-week old RIR pullets from a lady. After some back and forth and hassle when she didn't have them ready in time (I ended up getting them 3 week late), I received day old to week old unsexed chicks. Some had RIR in them, none were pure and most appeared to have been crossed with dang near every breed available in S.A. at the time

There's a facebook page for rating sellers, I find that if you buy from people on there, you have more luck! I bought Dominique eggs last year, mediocre hatch but they were all dominiques and nice looking ones at that!

Whenever possible now I look for reviews and ratings before buying anything I can't see and examine first. There sadly are a lot of dishonest people out there!

We're very exited :) The eggs are wiggling like crazy now, especially when I talk to them. It's the cutest thing! I'm hoping to get up to ducklings tomorrow morning. I moved the pips over as far as possible away from the others, so they have room to move and rock and roll tonight, without messing too much with the hen eggs.
