My hubby likes the white rice with sugar and milk as well. I can't take the blood sugar spike. Rice is the worst for me followed by corn.

We do eat both occasionally. I have some frozen chicken breast that needs out of the freezer so I'll make the chicken, broccoli, and rice dish that he likes.

I buy nothing we won't eat in a decent amount of time anymore.

In the garden, I have tiny mustard greens coming up and radishes. The beets are up. I planted 2 bundles of green onions, we pull 'em and eat 'em long before they get big. I have 30 broccoli plants. In my tiny greenhouse on the porch, I have lots of tomatoes, 15 eggplants and a crap load of New Zealand spinach. I planted English peas in the garden, they aren't up yet. In the starter closet, I have more eggplant, Cubanelle peppers and some more stuff I can't remember started. And I have 15 Artichoke plants. I have tons of seeds to plant this year. Got to plant Purple Hull Peas again this year, I'm out in the freezer. I have some Texas Gourdseed white corn to plant for cornmeal.

Meals-Garden veggies!
Meat-We have 50 Cornish Cross chicks, 25 are sold, the rest are ours.
-We have 2 feeder pigs, have 1 and a half sold, half of one is ours.
-We have lamb in the freezer and more on the hoof. Also have some beef, shrimp, and pork.

We have layers and have eggs.

I have the preppers required buckets of rice and beans LOL LOL I also have 25 pounds of sugar, not counting the 6 four pound bags in the pantry, several buckets of wheat and I have a mill to grind them with. I have a bucket of oatmeal and probably some more stuff I can't think of right now. I have used some of the rice and beans, I have ground some of the wheat for some darn good bread, I use sugar and oatmeal, so we eat the stuff I store.

Preparing meals won't be a problem here. Our garden was a failure last year, we were in drought and it was hot! Really looking forward to the garden this year and I want to can everything I can get my hands on.

We have enough to feed not only ourselves, but to share with friends and neighbors, if they need it. We sure won't stand by and watch our friends and neighbors go hungry.

I need more jar lids, that ought to be easy to get, everybody is trying to find toilet paper. LOL LOL

Not a lot of changes here. I'll be focusing on canning some food stuff to make easy meals. Might try my hand at baked beans, possibly chili. We'll also focus on eating out of the freezer, and saving the canned goods for later.

Status quo here. I did buy some dark cholate chips. Like to eat a few of those instead of a candy bar. A customer in the store said "it looks like people think the world will come to an end". So, I wanted to be sure I had chocolate & wine! :D

Soon it will be time to plant the garden.

There are a lot of ready to heat & eat meals in the freezer. When I cook "big" I do so to plan ahead. I'm always overstocked!

If I cook rice as the carb part of the meal, I will often save that for last, and eat it in a bowl with milk and a sprinkle of sugar. Yummy. I'm actually looking forward to being more creative instead of running to the store to pick up this or that.

we used to take the leftover rice, add some beaten egg, milk, sugar and cinnamon, and cook it in the microwave-- instant rice pudding for breakfast!

You all need to add a dash of cinnamon to your rice, sugar and milk. That's good eats!!
