I know, right. I've always done it as well. She wrapped it and it won't be in there long enough to pick up any off flavors. Not that I've had any issues in my freezer even after 6 months.

Butter sales have been scarce. 2 years ago I scored 40# on sale for the freezer. I was able to replenish about 15# last year. We used to use 40# per year, but much less since I started eating dairy free. I'm well stocked with butter! 
DH will continue hunting to fill doe tags. We have enough for us but we want to share. A lot of people are needing help getting through a month of quarantine. Gifting meat makes a big difference in their grocery budgets, but it costs us pennies per pound + work. DH hasnt seen a doe yet this year.
Buck tag is used.
Sorta wishing I'd gotten a couple laying hens. I got an extra 2 dozen eggs. In spring stay at home order, DH and I baked more and went through eggs faster than we expected.

Another reason I really should NOT have dried up my does... shame on me. I gift the neighbors, MIL, and MIL's caretaker with milk frequently. At least, I did... feeling pretty bad about not being able to now.

Our 13 year old granddaughter has been exposed to Covid. She sat between 2 kids that both have Covid.

Hens are laying...still selling but, way more than I need are always left. Yeah, dried my goats, too but froze some and I think a couple will kid close to first of year. Froze cheeses, too. Will be glad to pull milk out, need freezer room.
I saw so many empty shelves in stores I work last few weeks. Primarily paper and cleaning products. Groceries are holding fairly stable around here, although prices are sure rising!! Meats?? Sufficient amounts at inflated prices. Not looking to buy as I'm stocked but, always watch the market. Got some sweet potatoes at $.19 per lb. I plan to put up a couple canners of them. Next yr I'll grow them! Had one for supper -- delish.

So Ohio restrictions are ratcheting up, "slow downs" are starting. We are all into making certain this household is set from a personal perspective
From a volunteer standpoint, I am crushed. I am part of the organization that runs toys for tots for our county. Obviously donations are way down and we have no plan yet on how to do the logistics of our sorting, packing, and distribution setup, let alone pickup day. The VFW hall we use as a home base will be on the restricted use list. Ughh

I landed several pounds of cheese- cheddar and jack - I waxed them and have them in a cool environment. This is an experiment; I've never waxed cheese before. I watched a couple of Youtubes by Alaska prepper on how to do it.

My biggest concern is for my Dad, a hospice patient. The hospice nurses are not able to supply us with gloves. And when I can buy them from harbor freight, they are $18/box. I think they used to be about $5. We have some for now... but... are going through a lot every day. We're ok on food, and ok on paper products for now. but, can't get out often to restock.
