We have wood heat for the front part of the house where the living areas are, and a fuel oil space heater over by the bedrooms.

We haven't yet started up the wood stove... but as I age I am no longer as hardcore as I used to be.... so the heater over by the bedrooms has been turned on.

Do peppers grown indoors need hand pollination?
All summer long I go out and shake my pepper and tomato plants.

Some years I have grown cucumbers and squashes that needed the male flower taken and used to fertilize the female ones. That is problematic since I wouldn't always have a male flower ready when I had female ones in need.

This year I grew a cucumber where you had to do nothing... every flower grows a baby cucumber.
