Rain and wind. The wind earlier knocked our power out at 2:25pm according to the email PSE sent me. It came back on around 7pm. There was a break in the wind when we got home around 5pm. That let me unpack and take care of the chickens. Plus get the generator going.

Had a cottonwood up front that the top third was confirmed dead this summer. We were going to have someone come drop it for us. No need now. Wind knocked off the dead part. It's not too thick around so I'll drag it from the side of the road as soon as it's not raining. Probably 40 feet of firepit fuel in 2 chunks.

Rained yesterday afternoon, had a boomer roll through about 1:00 AM. Pretty nice today tank top weather, though muddy and windy. There is now another boomer fixing to roll through. Fantastic light show moving in from the west. I'm sitting on the front porch, in a rocking chair drinking a nice glass of water watching the fantastic light show. I hope I don't get blown off the porch the winds are whipping from the south. Wife, dogs and all animals accounted for. All are safe and secure, nothing left to do but enjoy the show 👍

Edit... So windy now, the flagpole is waving in the wind and ringing like a bell. We are heading for the basement, it's safer there.

Part of that same system rolled through her at 3am. Enough distant thunder to wake us up, but nothing serious.

Some small already dead, tree branches down is all and lots of mud. That 3 blasts from the weather radio always grabs your attention.

We didn't get anywhere near the forecast rain and no real wind from last nights storm. Didn't last as long either.

So only 16 hours with 1.75 inches of rain. Means we don't currently have a pond out front like we normally would have gotton from one of these atmospheric rivers. The forecast was 36 hours and 3-5 inches.

Plus we got old jokes out to tell. Like the tried and true.

Why did the Salmon cross the road?

i don't know how to embed TicTok videos or Id have just posted them.

Beautiful! Whereabouts in Alaska are you? Visiting Alaska is on my bucket list. I could even handle the snow, but I could not handle the lack of daylight in the winter.
Kenai Peninsula

I am on the coast, so warmer than most of Alaska...

except Kodiak and SE, it is way warm over in those places in the winter, but their summers are even cooler than here.
