So yesterday I did no work other that fix a leak under the kitchen sink with a pair of channel lock pliers.

I woke up, had coffee, went to church and gave a public testimony \o/. At the end of church while everyone was fellowshipping I called my favorite daughter in-law and asked if I could pick up my grand daughters for a little fun.

Here's what we did.

Grand daughters said "bigfoot's gotta booty" and they had me snap a pic of "bigfoot booty"

Dairy Queen - closed for the season, Reason? Freezing 👎 so we settled on chocolate shakes at Arby's.

Now that I had them jacked up on sugar I took them home to Grandma 🤣 Grandma asked me what did you bring home. I said I brought home the best thing ever LOVE. We all hung out in the cave until it was time for Grandma to feed all the animals and put them to bed. Both my granddaughters were so excited that we've got the cattle to the point were they can be petted so that's what my granddaughters did. We practically had to drag them inside because it's was cold outside. I think they would have stayed out there bonding with the cattle until the cattle had enough pets.

Then I took them home in time for super. I was asked by my younger granddaughter if I could take them to Walmart next time? I said why do you want to go to Walmart? "Well, pawpaw theres these toys I want to show you that I want for my birthday. I got to here all the toys she wanted for miles and miles of driving the bus back to their house ❤️. They showed mom and dad all the pictures I took of them on our "great adventure" and I was told to never delete the pictures.

Boy I had all you fooled... You thought I was gonna be taking time to work about the farm. It's true I will, no doubt. But I got to be doing the important things in life first. Farm work will always be there, but spending time with my family is way more important:thumbsup

Today I got good news, the ultrasound of my heart came back good. I called my dad who has been worried sick and told him looks like I may be the generation that breaks the "generational curse" of dying or having a massive heart attack at my age. We'll see what happens... Got a handful of weeks left until my birthday. My great grandfather, grandfather, all my uncle's on my dad's side died at the age I am now of massive heartattack. My dad had massive heartattack at my age but he was at the hospital when it happened and they were able to save his life. My dad was so happy to hear the good news he was praising Almighty over the phone and it brought tears of joy to my eyes. \o/

Sorry @baymule but morning coffee time is now being spent with Almighty. So I won't be participating but sporadically, here go forward.

Stay blessed everyone 👍

I agree. I’ve had cows, I like cows. But I’m not 40 anymore. I still think I can do everything but walk on water, but reality strikes. I’m 66, 5’7” weigh 135 pounds. I no longer wish to deal with a ton of locomotive engine on 4 hooves. (Bull)

That’s why I have hair sheep. Rams can be dangerous, that’s why I have Ringo, he’s a sweetheart. Hair sheep can browse or graze. They don’t need shearing. I’ve had them for 7 years and never pulled a lamb. I love my sheep.

If it’s milk you want, get a couple of goats. There are many breeds to choose from. I like @frustratedearthmother ‘a way of milking. She doesn’t pull the babies and she’s not strict about weaning. If she wants milk, she pens the goat up overnight, milks, turns out in the morning. If she doesn’t want to milk, the doe is with her baby and milking is not critical. FEM do I have that right?

Small livestock is growing in importance on small farms.
I actually milked my does without taking off kids.

:idunno

Separating was too much work... so I never did.

The moms did fine. We didn't get as much since the kids were on 24/7.... but we got enough.
