I don't have a cauldron, but I have a a stock pot which is the modern equivalent.

I'm playing potion making again. Thought I'd be fancy and melt the extra wax caps out of the cheesecloth left over from a harvest my brother was at. I was hoping for a cereal bowl full of wax. I got one of honey and the caps only gave about 3 tablespoons of wax. Oh well. We'll eat it. I have wax I ordered to use for lotions.

i read it as they were separating honey from bee comb so there is wax and honey involved.

Was separating it to use the wax for lotion or chapstick. There's enough to make the chapstick. We'll eat the honey.

Beeswax is perfectly edible as well. I do just eat bites of honeycomb (full of honey). You can buy squares of it for that purpose.
