I forgot,, what kind of goats do you have?
THAT is the question of the day, lol.

I started years ago having registered, show quality pygmies. I got out of showing and decided I would love to try milking. In came the Nubians which I crossed with pygmies to create a breed called Kinder goats.

After that I wanted a more parasite resistant goat so I brought in Kiko's, a parasite resistant meat goat. That cross definitely helped with parasite resistance.

Next in line are the Myotonics for a smaller, more muscled goat.

I'm trying to tailor my goats to my needs. I want a meaty, milky, mid-sized goat that's parasite resistant and easy to handle. In about a hundred more years I might get there, lol!

Woo Hoo - no rain today - but no bright, beautiful sunshine either. Chance of rain for the next 5 days.

Disbudded 4 bucklings today....my least favorite goat chore EVER! I hate it, they hate it, but has to be done.

And...drum roll please! Another skill to add to my resume. Changed the battery out in my truck today. (almost all by myself, lol) I had to get a step ladder to lift the battery out. Only managed to scratch my poor truck just a little...sigh. I have a wonderful neighbor who saw me working and walked over to lift the new battery in for me. I did do all the hooking up and tightening things by myself and best of all - TRUCK goes vroom, vroom again instead of click, click. Life is good!

Geeze, these forum blackouts are hard on an old person. I already forgot what I was gonna post yesterday, lol. Hmmmm...

Oh wait....had another baby. The ONE doe that I wanted to give me a buckling - didn't. :( I'm kinda ticked off at her about that. But, to her favor is the absolutely beautiful udder she freshened with. It'll make her a keeper and probably her baby girl.

Starting to try and work out who stays and who goes. Some babies will stay and some old favorites will go. :( It's hard to farm with your head instead of your heart. Sigh...

Heard a weather report that said the Houston area is at 139% of our normal rainfall for January. Probably higher now because it rained all day. Well, it rained all day in Houston, but stayed mostly north and east of my house. - we got off pretty light with just a third of an inch before daylight. High percentage for the rest of the week so I'm hoping it misses us again.
