Dang good question! I just received 18 more eggs from the same breeder. They'll go in the incubator today. Also have some others ordered from a different breeder. Hopefully there'll be lots of fluffy butts running around here soon enough!

I'm going to try and work on my screen house today. Not looking forward to it - the panels I'm using are big and heavy. I'll give it my best shot and if needed, call in reinforcements, lol. My panels are 20 ft long, 5 ft tall and have 4 inch square openings. That's a lot of metal....

On baby watch again. Don't really have exact dates but should have a couple does deliver within a few days to a few weeks. Had a guy come and look at babies yesterday. He will definitely be a buyer, but hasn't decided if he wants the Myotonic babies or the bigger babies. I've got too many cuties to pick from and he's having trouble making a decision, lol.
 
Busy, busy, busy! Been trying to take advantage of the beautiful weather we've had. Yard has been relieved of it's burdens of sticks from all the wind we've had. Grass has been mowed finally. Been working on garden stuff. Garden fever is strong. Trying to work on the screen house for tomatoes that I've wanted for years. I'm going to put something together somehow, someway...

I started seeds a while back and have little green things that are begging for a permanent place to grow up. More work, lol. Got some raised beds that need to be put together. They will live in the screen house when it gets completed. Bought 32 (40lb) bags of dirt to help fill the beds. That will be mixed with dirt from the pond mound and plenty of barn gold to get them filled and ready to be planted.

Have two does that are close to delivering - hopefully this week. Getting youngest granddaughter Wed -Sunday. I know she'd love to have brand new babies while she's here. If not, there are plenty of young-uns out there. Have had a couple folks speak for some of the babies already. They're not quite old enough to cut the apron springs, but it's nice to have homes lined up for them already.

my past few weeks have been shot to heck with all sorts of mayhem so i'm barely thinking about outside tasks, but i could have gotten out the other day with it being so warm but the only project i have ready to go means the ground would have to be thawed out and it probably isn't yet.

i did get out yesterday for a few minutes to pull a chunk of black plastic edging back to where it should be after it got blown around. not something i've ever had move before from the wind no matter where i've put it, but this past weekend was pretty ferocious.

today looks sunny now but forecast is for more clouds and up to 62F but that is only a hint of warmth. most days coming up there is chances of snow and overnight freezes and snow, plus rains, so pretty much normal for here. :) i don't really think about gardening until after mid-April. if i can get out and scrape weeds and do other things before then it's pretty much bonus and helps get the season going, but this season i was pretty good last year about finishing up garden tasks so almost all the gardens are in decent shape.

Lotsa dirt therapy - thank goodness! It keeps me sane. (debatable, lol)

As soon as I opened my mouth about how well DH has been doing there's been a return of some symptoms. Intermittent as of now. We'll be watching more closely and documenting anything else that might pop up before we see the doc.

I can't keep up with everything that I want/need to do around here. I'm so far behind from the past few years. Not giving up though - just gotta keep my shoulder to the wheel.

I've got fencing that needs to be done. I need to move some fencing where I'm going to have my screen house. Other areas need fence posts replaced that have rotted at ground level. Thank goodness for stock panels because they tend to hold up the posts around here now, lol. These posts are pushing 40 years old so I guess it's understandable that they're giving up. So much maintenance to do.

I finally decided that if I'm doing all the work around here that I need tools that I can work with. Bought a new angle grinder yesterday to cut through the stock panels. Too time consuming and too hard on my shoulders to do a lot of cutting with bolt cutters. Had to get a new t-post pounder too. The one that's almost 40 years old (like the fence posts) is splitting finally coming apart. Got a new one at Home Depot yesterday. It's a little heavier than the one I had, but hopefully it'll pound the posts faster so the extra weight won't be horrible. We'll see.... After that I went whole hog and bought a new battery powered weed whacker. I don't like gasoline ones - they're heavy, stinky, loud and hard to start. DH previously used a corded one - but I hate dragging that cord around. Sooooo - I now have a new one headed my way.

Picking up youngest granddaughter tomorrow! Yay! It'll put me a little behind in some work needed around here - but totally worth it. There will be fishing! There'll also be some shopping because her b'day is close. I'm really looking forward to it. I'd never admit it - but maybe I need a little break...

Still waiting on more babies. Really hopeful that one gal will deliver while g'daughter is here. :fl
 
really it sounds like you're doing great all things considered. :) i'm about the same (but of course not nearly as backed up since i don't have animals to contend with or an ill person) but i also have more of a winter break than you get down there. (i like it :) ).

we'll not talk about sanity. i think i've flown that coop many years ago...

yeah... but after trapping a lot of mice over the years and dealing with their mess that they can leave behind it's just a part of the deal. i've had some critters eat half the head of mice to get at the bait still on the traps. i don't know if it was another mouse or some other creature, but from what i can tell it could have been another mouse maybe even a sibling or parent. i don't think they have any qualms about things like that...

and then i've found unidentified parts of some creatures on the driveway that were probably dropped by the blue herons that fly over. i just toss 'em over in the cedar trees or on the grass next to the cedar trees and the crows will come along and eat what they like. i put trapped mice over on the grass too.
