Same here. Last yr a doe had what appeared to be one black & one brown. A week later strange coloring. A month later, two dappled bucks! 😁. I really had to figure out who they were, one day.
I really liked the looks of him until I picked him up this morning and found a split scrotum. Pretty pronounced too...boo. OH well, he'll make a nice wether and probably taste pretty good too. :(

My teenage neighbor (substitute granddaughter, lol) asked me to hatch some eggs for her. I've been hatching on and off since summer. I'm tired of hatching so I told her no! However, I loaned her my incubator and gave her some eggs. I got them all set up yesterday evening. I don't think her mom was exactly thrilled but she was sweet - she's always sweet. I really do have great neighbors.

I have so much work that I should be doing inside - but I feel like I can't waste the wonderful, but weird, weather this time of year. I need to get ready for some possible rain towards the end of the week or weekend. I need to cover a round bale that I've got opened and am hand feeding. I should probably always hand feed it - no waste to speak of that way.

I tried to start the generator yesterday - just because I feel like I should do it at least once a month or so. Probably haven't done it in at least 3 months. Battery is dead - argh. I need to put the trickle charger on it this morning. Also need to dig out the turn off valve that shuts off the water to the pasture. No freeze predicted in the near future, but it would be nice to have it done and ready. Then I need to put something over it so that it doesn't fill back up with mud.

Got started doing some trimming of my neglected fig tree yesterday. It's thick and overgrown with some crazy vines. Unfortunately, there's also some poison oak in there, so I have to be careful. I trimmed for about 20 minutes then came inside to wash my arms and face with Dawn and to wipe down with sanitizer. I need to clean up what I cut and then cut some more - but at least I made a little progress.

My list goes on and on....but my energy doesn't! I'll keep after it and hope my progress can outpace the chores that keep popping up. Fat chance of that, huh?
