Biggest downside after doing some research is this will raise our taxes enough to notice.

A few searches on Zillow and Redfin show that that what will be similar properties, with less acreage, are going for $550-600k. So I guess we will still have lots of equity. We cannot buy any property here for less than $400k and that includes in the cities. There is no affordable housing.

The apartment we used to rent for $800 a month is $2200 now

Same here. Houses are out of reach for many. Prices on my street have skyrocketed. I look at sale prices on sites and go "WOW"

I love my weather station.

Just checked, -4 at 5:45 am, up a degree from -5 a little earlier.

I'm better off....it's 22* but 7* here, with wind chills. Not leaving 20s all day, and winds staying too....so extremes continue. Makes for a WTH kinda day

Coffee!!! Lots coffee. Storm come into play 10-12 tonight, so tomorrow wake up to snow & ice. And more coffee. . Just not fair -- this weather crap. Worse tomorrow than today.

Woke up to thunder, lightening and a helluva lot of rain. Upside down day today on temps. Right now is as warm as we'll be until mid-week. Here we go...

We got our first round of snow, a bigger dose tonight and still dropping temps. 20's all day yesterday, negatives coming. As much as I don't like all the cold, it actually helped make the snow stick and not give us our usual ice-covered streets and power lines.
