...The Spit in Homer Alaska showing a sheet of ice on the left side of the Spit.

i had to look that up on the map. quite an interesting setup. i'm not sure if that was a human made sort of thing or a natural feature of the area? at this point it's probably both...

Natural. Think of it like a sand bar. But yes, the big boulder/rocks lined along one part of the edge were put there by man... to keep waves from messing up the road.

i wonder if it was a spot where a glacier ended and kept dropping a lot of stuff to form that sandbar like that...
