    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

Thankfully, I've never had a desire to go to Chicago. Being a police officer is a hard job, it's even harder now. So many have quit, retired or transferred and with fewer new recruits coming up, it's going to get even harder.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

*takes the broom, sweeping off the porch and the cobwebs that have collected* Still hot here. We do have a slight chance of rain over the weekend. Peppers are producing, green beans are growing and tomatoes are still putting out a few here/there.

I'm sure that will probably happen in some areas of the country. This vaccine is just a precursor, a test run you might say. "They" want to see how many people they can get to take it. Give them an idea how it will go when the Mark is brought out.

Just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed reading about your farm LG. I'm not a big poster, but I do enjoy reading. Sadly, not much left to read anymore.

    Pickle/relish recipes

I don't have a dill relish recipe, but I do have a really good sweet relish, that isn't sickening sweet.

@baymule - It's a good thing your son was in a truck. He probably would have had more injuries if he was in a car. God had his hand on him. @Lazy Gardener - I hardly ever see anyone outside anymore. I can understand why here. It's usually so hot and the skeeters/buffalo gnats eat you alive...

I used to use pine straw, but it pokes you. It hurts when one gets you under a nail. Then I went to hay. I love how it smells, then all this aminopyralid crap started, so went back to shavings. My only problem with shavings is sometimes the eggs get "lost". I put shavings in my coop and leaves...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Hang on Bay, they are on the way! We started getting a year or so ago. Not many, but it only takes a couple. Awful things! We got 2.2" of rain today. We really needed it. Still hear thunder in the distance. I've been doing some canning. I've put up 12 qts of green beans, 32 pints of tomatoes &...

You need to find out where you manure supplier gets his hay from. Most hay these days are sprayed with an Aminopyralid herbicide to control the weeds. It's getting to where no manure is safe to use in the garden unless you produce it yourself. I've gone back to using shavings in my nest boxes...

Love your garden! I used cinder/cement blocks for mine too. They were a pain to set up, but I don't have to worry about rot or termites destroying them. I used treated wood for my first raised beds. They lasted less than a year.

    Coronavirus Concern Up

It's not on the "do not use" list. I've read that white pine tastes best, but we don't have any around here. Mostly yellow pine, loblolly pine & short leaf pine. I got this info here: https://www.survivalresources.com/making-pine-needle-tea.html Thank you @GrandmaDeKorte for the link posted...

Hope you get to feeling better LG. Wish you could get your hands on some elderberry syrup. I've heard about pine needle tea. Have you recently started taking it? Anyone else take it?

Sounds like you've been busy, busy, busy LG! I love the smell of drying herbs. I want an herb bed up close to the house, but haven't made one yet. I have a rosemary bush planted in an extra large pot out in the garden. I always pinch off a piece when I walk by. Wish we didn't have venomous...

    Coronavirus Concern Up

I agree LG. People with auto-immune diseases were not included in the limited human trials that were conducted. People can not think for themselves.
