We use mint on cows udders all the time to increase circulation... there is even a commercial product "Uddermint" so I'm sure it's safe. We use fans for the mini-Jerseys... the Dexters just don't ever seem fazed by the heat.

We raise Dexters for milk, meat and seedstock breeding animals. I really recommend giving them a good look. My beef animals sell for $3.75/lb hot hanging weight, directly marketed to consumers. Try water only washing. I'm still restricted from posting links so google it. I've been doing it for years and have hair down to my thighs... and I don't use any products. No poo, no conditioner, no gels, mouse... and my hair is wonderfully healthy. And I did not have great hair to start with.
