That is a great score, I'd love to find something like that! Just keep it dry and you should be good for a while!
That's a good base feed, very similar to what chickens would eat on a normal traditional farm, before mass produced pellets became the norm. That and lots of kitchen scraps and...
That's a good first step, communication is key with any relationship. :hugs
My father is a recovering alcoholic, he drank when I was very young, quit for 12 years, drank for 6 years, now he's been sober for 5 years again. He would get angry and sloppy, but never violent. We have a very...
I think that's a great idea! I did leave the Fels Naptha out for a few hours between when I grated it and blended it, but I think a couple days would make a real difference.
I did mix the grated fels naptha into the washing soda in the blender, but I think I started with too much naptha at first. I think working in smaller quantities will be the way to go, it all mixes well after with a spoon anyway. Hopefully I stopped before I did any permanent damage to the...
I used my blender this weekend when I made the detergent and it was NOT happy. The motor ran really loud and started smelling hot, so I may use the magic bullet next time and see if that works better, or use less fels naptha at a time when mixing it into the washing soda.
The finished...
Ok thanks, I'd hate to ruin my blender or magic bullet for food. I found a great older blender with the glass pitcher at a garage sale that works great, they don't make them like they used to! Those are good tips on making the powder, I'll keep that in mind.
I'll check our goodwill or dollar...
I keep avoiding this conversation with our pediatrician, he wants us to get our well water tested, and give our daughter flouride supplements if we don't have any naturally occurring. I get a read the riot act at the dentist every time I decline the flouride treatment too. I do use toothpaste...
The cyser (cider mead) we made with champagne yeast came out to about 12-14%, a bottle of that will kick you in the pants! It is dry, but after a few sips you get used to that and all the other flavors and some sweetness start to come through. By your second glass it just tastes good! :D
You could siphon off everything but the bottom layer of pulp and the cloudiest liquid and into secondary fermentation and it should clear up a bit more. There are clearing agents you can add as well, but our local brew shop guru says they work more for looks than taste or quality, so we don't...
Maybe from sulfites? I know a lot of people are sensitive to that, I get rashes on my neck and face when I drink anything with sulfites in it. Too bad, since I like Woodchuck's cider, but can't drink it often or in large quantities.
I'm not sure about brewing without yeast, I'm sure there...
