    Electric Fence?

Just wanted to update. We finally got the fence in. One area we had to raise the fence. Another area we had to reinforce the main fence. She was pushing on it and crawling up the chainlink behind the live wire. She was very good at finding many weaknesses. But we have managed to keep her...

    Crime In Your Area

We live in a very poor rural area. We actually have a pretty high crime rate. But this area has been poor for a while. I haven't really seen an increase in crime either from the holiday or the lower economy.

    lay offs

Our fire department is also volunteer. I haven't heard about the police or sheriff's departments. I usually see several of these guys at work on the weekends and no one has mentioned anything. Our parish has cut back to two ambulances for the entire parish. We only have two crews working at...

    Casualities of the economy

My uncle just lost his job (tool and dye engineer) last week. He took the job 4 years ago and put his old house on the market then (Michigan). It still hasn't sold. So now he has two house payments and no job. My aunt hasn't been able to find work either. She is a medical secretary. My BIL...

    Electric Fence?

Fortunately I don't have to worry about freezing ;) Thanks for all the input so far. No, I just couldn't put her in a small kennel. I have seen way too many BCs lose their minds in one. They really and truely have to be able to give chase. She really needs a job, but on 1/2 an acre I...

    Electric Fence?

We have a crazy border collie who must herd, all day, every day, rain or shine, dark or light, feast or famine. The problem is that we have NOTHING currently for her to herd. Thus she has become the Great Escape Queen who insists on herding every vehicle that passes our house. She has been...

    Hurry what helps a 5 yo's bellie ache? P.S. it's for real!

Just a word of warning, Pepto has aspirin as one of its ingredients. You do not want to give aspirin to a child who may have a virus. Better to never give aspirin to children for any ailments. Aspirin mixed with a virus can cause Reye's Syndrome: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reye_syndrome I...

I so wish my guy was a hunter. He says he doesn't have the stomach for it :( I can't complain, I don't either. But I love me some venison! Sorry about the bad luck, but yes Karma can sting at times.

How many pairs of shoes do you own???

I have 5 pairs of shoes. 2 white pairs for work. One is an old pair that I just haven't thrown away yet. They are still good, just scuffed pretty badly. I wear them if I get that 6th sense that we are going to have a bad night at work ;) 1 pair of tennis shoes 1 pair of brown low heals...
