    Would you rather (wyr)

Beekissed, if I could give you 3 reasons, would that help? 1 ~ Alleviates boredom. Sometimes you're the only one around, or it's late, or you are just finished with other things. 2 ~ Helps clear the mind, and let's you "re-set." This one I use it for. I work, and work, mostly on the computer...

    Shampoo Recipe Challenge

Hmmmm, I was going to wash my hair this afternoon when it got hot (Double duty: clean hair, and cools you off! Plus, it dries faster!). why don't I just use this? Let's see....eggs, check! Olive oil, check! Lemon juice, check! Apple cider vinegar...uh, oh, I may be out. I wonder if rice vinegar...

    quick pickles

Hi, Parsonswife! :frow Chcknrs, I don't use pickle juice to make my pickled beets, I use a very simple mix of vinegar, water, sugar, and bay leaf, and now often add a couple of pea sized pieces of dried ginger (not candied) and a couple of cloves. However, I have put eggs in the liquid when we...

What can I do with my Simply Orange bottles.

But remember, the plastic breaks down out in the sun like that, and makes a terrible mess. I think metal cans....sans lead...would be a better option. And metal can have a beneficial effect on the plants, as a bonus. :)

    Homemade goat milking table.....

What a cool idea! Good job! :) Something came to me, looking at the demo. What if one used a pretty crib? The kind that the side slides down. I wonder if that would be the correct level for reaching in to milk easily. Now you've got me thinking, as we have been putting off making a milk stand...

    Shampoo Recipe Challenge

Here's what I learned: Where the essential oils I've used are from botanicals, fragrance oils can be synthetic. In itself, at this point in my desperation, that's not a problem. However, the use of carrier oils, is. Apparently carrier oils are vegetable based, by and large, and some of the...

    Shampoo Recipe Challenge

Hi, FarmerChick! Yes, I've used vinegar, and like it, though I have more often rinsed with lemon water. I use a large tumbler with some juice in it, then at the time to rinse I add water to it, and finish my hair with it. Thanks for taking up the challenge! :) Hey there, AmyQuilt! Yes, it...

    Shampoo Recipe Challenge

And boy is it ever! Here is the background: I make my own products all the time, but this just has me stumped. I moved from commercial shampoos to natural shampoos a very long time ago. Then, due to some health issues, and formula changes, I had to go from natural shampoos, to homemade ones...
