Yesterday, we hosted a Christmas party for my Dad's side of the family. We have leftovers, but had some of the ham for breakfast and then some were eaten for lunch. So, my plan for leftovers for tonight's meal might have to be altered.
I'm thinking maybe goulash and cornbread..........of...
What a lot of work to have to close up early. Sorry about the rain. We had a garage sale last summer and it will be the last. Way too much work and we sold very little. That's the third time over the years.
But, as you did, we sold eggs then.
I'd be happy with $140. You're that much...
Just wondering if any SS members have a family milk cow.
We have a small Dexter herd. We are currently milking just one now.
I have a question and hope someone here can help. I've been reading and searching for this answer, but only get more confused. She is bred and we estimate that...
Friday night.......fried fish, mashed potato patties, bread and butter salad. Strange for us as we don't normally eat fried foods, but this week we went all out and had fried chicken and fried fish.
My MIL gave us a tray of Christmas cookies she baked so we had those for dessert.
Todays...
Yikes! Not a way to start the day. And, you made cinnamon rolls, too. Sorry, for all the troubles, but good thing it happened then and not when you are in the middle of holiday cooking.
Don't you just love to find something you need for free. I'm glad for you.
About the rats........never...
What a timely subject.............just yesterday my mind was in gear as I was walking through the barnyard my foot caught a stray twine from hay or straw. Then, coming through the barn I passed the large sack of used twine. We all know how sturdy this twine is and I got to thinking that...
We have 2 Nesco American Harvest dehydrators. The first one we purchased about 6 years ago for about $40-$50....if I remember correctly. The second one, my BIL bought last year, never used it and gave it to us. This year we used both and didn't have any problems. The one from BIL doesn't...
I'm sorry the machine didn't work out, but good thing it was now instead of later when you may not be able to return it. How exciting to be getting a new machine. I'm not familiar with the model, but I'm sure you'll have fun sewing on it. Let us know.
And, thanks so much for the machine...
I agree with all of you - home made is better. Even better yet - home grown/home made. What I mean is cooking and baking with ingredients you grew and raised.
Tonight we had Comfy Spaghetti Casserole, salad, home made Oatmeal bread. For dessert, my DH fixed the last of the microwave popcorn...
I have an older Kenmore that serves me well. Also, an older Singer that needs fixing. I like them both.
I would like a new one with quilting features, but that is on the "dream list" so maybe one day.
I did bring home a Brother about 4 years ago. It had many features that I wanted. It...
Here's a nice oatmeal bread that we like. In fact, made it today.

WOW! You are quite a talented quilter. I just love the rustic look, too. What a lucky family to have such warm quilts made with much love.
Thanks for sharing.
This is my first reply, but I just had to say that, YES, being a grandma is the greatest. Congratulations Grandma!
And, I wanted to ask.........do you have pictures of your quilts somewhere? I'd love to see them. I enjoy quilting, too. Just wish I had more time for it.
Oh, and I will say a...
