Don't know if this qualifies but I picked up a Mantis tiller from craigslist today for $150. It is 2 years old and wouldn't run right for the guy so he got a new one and sold this one "as is". I brought it home, looked it over and found that the primer bulb had a crack in it. Went to the local...
Not me. This is a grand experiment for me. I really don't know how well it will work. In theory it should be fine. I'll post pics when it's finished and then let everyone know how it performs when the time comes.
That's exactly the way it was designed. I guess I didn't explain it very well.
The slanted screen is there just to show what it will look like when it's done. In place of the screen will be a detachable, triangular box. Where it attaches to the main unit, it will be an air intake. The angled...
Here is the one I am working on now. It's a little bigger than what you are looking for but it's all I have. It' nearly 6' high, the drawers are 24" wide and 30" deep. ( I plan on drying a lot of stuff in each batch ). In the lower right corner there is a screen for photo purposes. The finished...
By the end of the year we may just be using our dollar bills as it will be cheaper than spending them for TP.

Free, We got the sweater at Pet smart. Mom still doesn't bother with him. We left him with her all day Sun. but decided to bring him back in and bottle feed him. Right now he is confined to a small box in hopes that his leg gets stronger. BTW they are both buckling's. I know, strange names...
OK. Got the puter back today.
Here is Jersey the night he was born.
and here is Ali; the one we didn't think would make it.
and here they are today

He has something wrong with the tendons in his right leg. It doesn't support him very well. The vet gave us a syringe and...
Free. As soon as our computer is back I'll load them and post. I'm using our son's and don't want to download my camera onto his machine. Haven't checked the other one yet. I sure hope it's doeling.
Well he made it through the night. It is a boy. Calling him Ali, as in the boxer from the 70's. We put him in a small box with a space heater nearby. Milked mom a few times and bottle fed him as much as he would take. He can stand up and walk now. In fact, if we walk away from him, he follows...
Quick update. He's pretty much dried off now and taking the milk through a syringe. We've gotten about 20ml in so far. We had to lift him up but when we did he was standing on his own for about 10 seconds.
It's going to be a looooooong night.
Oh BTW TH, I think I'll play around with those...
Early last winter we acquired a pygmy goat we named Sassy. Last month we noticed her getting a little plump while the rest of the goats were thinning out a bit. But she is quite small and can slip in anywhere and steal grain from someone, so we didn't think much more about it. This afternoon she...
Wow. And to think I went and bought all those heirloom seeds for nothing. I guess I'll just allow my 5000sf garden to go back to lawn. :/ It sure will be easier to take care of that way. I guess I can take the fence down and let the goats in to eat the peas, carrots, beets, broccoli, and...
We buy 2 round bales of hay at a time (that's what fits on my small dump truck) at $50 each. We went to get some this morning and there were 21 left. Before he loaded it he made us an offer. " If you take them all, I'll give them to you for $25 apiece " :drool He even offered to deliver it...
I tilled last week and added another 600sf for a total of 5k now. I just ordered my seeds last Wednesday and they got here Sat. :ep That got me all fired up to get things going. I put up 6 tee-pees and 10 tomato stakes on Sun. Planted the peas, carrots, and beets today. Broccoli and...
We let the fire in the furnace go out Sat. morning and didn't start another until tonight ( Mon.)
I tilled the corn plot yesterday and added another 200sf.
Got 5 eggs from 7 hens Sun.
It must be spring. :celebrate
