lol I have actually tried to sell some of the pies I make but I never got a call. Guess my relatives don't get enough to spread the word. My SIL has trouble in the baking department of the kitchen lol. My MIL will have her oven full as well and my MIL and I are about the only ones left that...

I'm sorry but fruitcake nimrod is funny. It made me giggle lol. Any way hehe I will try both those recipes. And I only wish it was as simple as giving gifts now. I am basicly supplying the majority of the baked goods for...
You have many good replys to the joke ( even though it is still funny as heck ) :) but I know that my DH doesn't want to take over my work here at home. We have more pets then he would like and he never was one to clean up after them. Until I came along his mother had to feed and water his cat...
I had that very same discussion with my DH yesterday about Indiana. I voted and I know I should but I don't feel my vote really counts becasue they don't listen to the actually people. Sometimes goverment just plain sucks

I put as much of it as possible in my wash tub with bleach and scrubed and soaked for awhile and did that for most of the day, turning as needed. Then I set it out to dry and I put some baking soda in there as well. It's good to go now.

I had thought about the option of packing them into jars like those cookies in a jar idea. But then the thought occured to me that not a whole of people who get these gifts are actually going to make them themselves. Most of them are on the lazy side. Maybe if I got all the dry ingredients...
I want to make pies and cupcakes and such things for Christmas gifts. I'm just not sure how to store them so that they will be good when it is time to hand them out. Any suggestions?
I think I have finally beat the mold. DH doesn't think it smells like mold anymore and my kids aren't saying that anything stinks so I guess I'm good to go. Thanks everyone for all your great suggestions! :)
