We got a half a cow in the fall. I really enjoyed making beef stock from the soup bones. Now, we have bags of bones with no meat on them at all. Is there anything I can do with these for human consumption. I am sure the dog would love them- but I'm not sure she will live long enough to eat...
Glad the garden is doing well! Nice to see some sunshine for a change! At what point do you harvest the chamomile? I have two small plants that are just beginning to flower.
I also have a ton of calendula- you seem like the perfect person to ask, what can I do with it??;)
Cheaper than a dehumidifier, is to open a window and put a fan into it- sucking the air out of the window. This works like a charm, and fast. If you have a very hot, and dry day- you can blow that air in. I lived in a 100 year old house, with a dirt basement- every spring the fan went in!
With all that work and cleaning you have done, I doubt there is any pet dander left...Unfortunately, now you have all kinds of chemicals in the air from the paint and cleaners. I would get those windows open and really try to air it out. Is is the entire house he seems to have a problem with-...
I know, I know- I do love it on pancakes and ice cream- but I really wanted to make my strawberry jam, for the winter. I was planning on putting Smucker's out of business!!!
Darn!
I accidentally put 8 cups of strawberries, instead of the 5 the recipe calls for. I added 7 cups of sugar. Needless to say, it did not set. Is there any fix to this- or did I just make 20 quarts of berries into ice cream syrup???
I asked on TEG, sorry if you are reading this twice...
My cat brought in a big, fat vole once (alive). , I was raising a lab to be a guide dog, at the time. So, as I am trying to catch the vole- in the commotion, the lab swallows the darn thing whole!! Right down the gullet! The things that dogs consider food!!
I was a vegetarian for 30 years (my great-grandfather was too- and he died when he was 104). However, I am a meat eater now- and very happy with my choice. I found myself reaching for more and more "fake" meat products- which generally speaking are made with GMO grains, and soy.
I started...
I am fascinated with this idea. If you google chicken manure power ( or something along those lines) you will find all kinds of people using poop for power. For their cars, houses, etc.
Whenever I think about it, I remember the "Good Life" on PBS. That was his idea to heat his house...
I would definitely drill the hole... We lost our bees due to ventilation the first year. They were alive in February and moldy by spring. That is one thing bees and chickens have in common. The cold is not their enemy, moisture is. Good luck!
I really suffered with these headaches when I was young. The Dr's put me on all kinds of pills, etc. None of which helped much. At some point, in my adulthood I finally figured out I have allergies. When I feel a headache coming on, I immediately take benedryl. It almost always works. I...
You may have a sensitivity to SLS - check the ingredients on your toothpaste and mouthwash. If it has SLS in it- stop using it. You can find toothpaste in the health food store without it, or just stick to baking soda.
You might want to try Olive Leaf Extract. You can get it in pill form-...
I have been too busy this week- but I chose Wife's cream and frozen fruit idea!!! Wow! If you haven't done this, you really should. It took a few seconds to make something utterly wonderful! And it is an easy way to get a quick serving of fruit too!
I will try it with half and half, or whole...
