I have sinus infections ALL the time. These infections would send me to bed with sever pain, my eye would swell so large that it looked as it would come out of the socket, it was flame red and it weeped constantly. Going outside into the sun was not an options---just going from the house to car...
Tell me everything I could ever want to know about baking stones. I have done several searches--and they all keep mentioning Pampered Chef's stones. I know other places --kitchen stores--sell them. What's your idea of them?? I have never used one but have decided that I would like to start...
I might get banned on this site...but I have a bit of OCD, with washing--I shower at least once a day and wash my hair. I also wash the sheets, towels, dishtowels/clothes after each use. I KNOW it's very wasteful but it really freaks me out when I don't.. I have really tried over and over not...
I read that these wool sweaters could be used as cushions for your clogs--just cut them to fit into your shoes and they are great for warmth and 'bounce'! Also, how about making mittens from them??? Place your hand on the sweater --with your wrist at the them hemmed edge and trace--leaving...
A few weeks ago, a friend who is redoing a cottage style house, asked me to go with her to see what I thought of it.. While there I commented on a beautiful pair of French doors and windows that matched. She said she was going to throw them in the dump....I grabbed them up. They are in perfect...
I would say we are #1....My dh grew up 'dirt-poor', he knows how to be frugal/tight, he's a work-aholic, he can do/build/repair- just about anything--either self taught or learned because his family had nothing extra. On top of all that he is a pack-rat. He doesn't want to give/throw or donate...

I have three freezers and love having them. I have fruits and veggies in one, meat (we have our own beef) in another and I have baked goods, dried things, butter, flour, cornmeal, left overs, and my bee's wax in the third one. I can tell no difference in the electric bill (ours are in the...
I have some kitchen knives that were my mom's, they can be sharpened and hold an edge, from the late 40's.. Everytime my (adult) children help in the kitchen, they want my knives... I have my grandmother's sifter, works like a charm. I have old cast iron frying pans, that I would never part...
My last roll has been on the holder for three weeks and there are still a few on the roll.. I have started handing dh a cheap hand towel instead of p-towels. Two yrs. ago I purchased three dozen for two dollars at an estate sale (all but two still had the tags on them). I do love the pt under...
We haven't been to the groc store for three weeks--trying to eat from our freezers/pantry.. I scanned the paper today and bread was over $2.50 a loaf :o ! Milk is almost 5$ a gal.. I do not know how people with large families and no garden, beef or chickens will make it..
