I THINK I SCREWED UP MY METABOLISM

*SIGH* I was affraid of that. I do use natural wildflowr honey to sweeten a lot of things, but when the kids want something as a treat I was trying to find a better alternative to the whilte over refined sugar. I'll keep looking for Rapidura. Thanks!

I THINK I SCREWED UP MY METABOLISM

Hey Freem! Yeah, I've been reading around here about the rancidity of the commercial ww flour and figured that was most of the problem. Where would one look for a mill and I have no idea what the heck a wheat berry even is. Is it just the kernal of the wheat? Thanks,

I THINK I SCREWED UP MY METABOLISM

OK, so, the first question... Question #1: Am I overdoing it with the Vitamin D? I am taking the CLO and 6000 IU of the gelcaps a day. I gotta admit that I feel great and my fingertips have stopped cracking open and bleeding (ALWAYS a big problem in the winter). Question #2. What the heck...

    Allergic to Fels Naptha?

Thanks all! :thumbsup I LOVE this place! I'll go ahead and just use the current batch of soap for myself and daughter and if this turns out to be the issue with my son, I'll try a different bar soap. I'll post back to let everyone know what happens. Wish me luck! :fl Tom

    Allergic to Fels Naptha?

Hello again all! We started using the home made laundry soap a couple of weeks ago. (LOVE IT!) However, my son has developed little red spots all over. At first there were just a few mostly on his arms and I thought maybe it was from the hay bales, but there are now more (for about the past...

    Stock from OLD turkey carcass

Very good recommendations, BUT, as always, I was rushed and just dumped it in a big pot of water to simmer when I had to go pick up my DD. Will use this tip next time though! Thanks!

    Stock from OLD turkey carcass

:lau Good points! You DO know me well enough to ask those questions, huh? :gig Thanks Pat and WZ! Now, gotta decide if I want to just throw the veggies in with it from the get-go or just boil it down... Decisions, decisions!

    Stock from OLD turkey carcass

HELLLLLPPP!!! :gig I just found the turkey carcass from Thanksgiving that I was saving to make soup stock from. I just crammed it into a ziplock bag and put it in the freezer. Think it is still OK to use or should I toss it? Thanks so much! Tom

    Lard Storage

OK, try THIS on for size: "Lard can be obtained from any part of the pig as long as there is a high concentration of fatty tissue. The highest grade of lard, known as leaf lard, is obtained from the "flare" visceral fat deposit surrounding the kidneys and inside the loin. Leaf lard has little...

    Lard Storage

If I remember right... If you were to massage a pig (:lau) you'd notice lots of fat below the skin all over. That is NOT leaf fat. It is just the "all over fat" under the skin. Now when you got to rubbing down around the belly, you'd find the leaf fat. A bit more "crumbly"? NOT the right...

    Lard Storage

WOW! That IS a good deal! Honestly, it's been over 30 years since I helped butcher and rendered so amd WAY rusty! All I can clearly remember is cutting the fat into chunks and stirring a huge cauldron over a fire outside with a boat paddle!
