Hey Firem3 thats a good price if there a decent sized bush, how big are they...? Even if there not 2-3 ft tall, thats a cheap enough price. It'll just take a bit longer for good production if there small plants.

Thanks everyone for sharing..So i guess even with vacuum sealing in canning jars and those oxygen packets, short grain brown rice just won't last long unless refrigerated.Will any kinds of rice/beans/grains last long term( 1-2-3 yrs) if stored in the above mentioned method...?
For longer term emergency dry foods storage, rice, beans and such how is it done. Member " Enjoy The Ride " mentioned vacuum canning short grain brown rice in another thread.

I've never tried it yet, but at least 20 yrs ago, an older man whole lived next to me, grew sweet potatoes in old tires. He claimed it was the only why he could get a crop in our northern climate. The black rubber absorbs and radiates heat to the likings of spuds...

Karen,i'd follow Pats advice, as i don't have anywhere near that kind of acrage you have. I have a patch closed in with 4x4 post and deer netting then bird netting over that...! You'd spend an unthinkable amount of money trying to do the same thing.You need to go with some kind of electric...
