How was Galveston? With all the rain we have been getting, a tour of an insane asylum sounds enticing. I went to the Blueberry Festival in downtown Nacogdoches yesterday. Never been, didn't stay long. Was the typical food vendors, fried oreos, fried pickles, fried everything, funnel cakes...
On my second cup of coffee. Its a foggy day, windows are fogged up too. For whatever reason, my washing machine started working again Friday. I don't know why, but I'll take it.
Slept late this morning. With all the rain Ive had lately, I get bored being inside. Oh sure, I have things to do inside, but I have a major case of the DON'TS, As in I don't want to. It's very wet and soggy outside, Foggy too, the sun is up, trying bravely to shine through, but looks like a...
It is 10 years old. I think if I start paying to get it fixed, I’d have a pretty good down payment on a new one. I got a new dryer last year. Electronics, the fancy digital stuff, even the simplest , just doesn’t last long. Give old fashioned KNOBS!
Finished coffee, need to get dressed and get outside before it rains again. Got one inch yesterday and another storm coming in at noon. In other news, my washing machine is on the blink. It doesn't spin all the water out, so it starts the rinse/spin cycle all over again. Clothes are too wet to...
I'm grandfathered in on a passive system. My DD and DSIL bought a place several years ago the septic was 2 culverts sunk in the ground with no bottom. New system cost $15,000
Going for second cup. Yesterday I took tractor over to son’s house and mowed. My dog Carson went too. He got hot and worn out just laying in the shade. Came home, got a good drink, sat down to cool off and took a nap. Carson was tired too. Unloaded tractor, dropped flatbed and took Buford for a...
Coffee is ready. Got 4 1/2” of rain in 3 hours yesterday. Road flooded and is probably washed out in places. Today will be too wet, county crew is off on Fridays, and it starts raining again on Monday. I just hope Central and West Texas is getting rain.
I have the 2004 Ford F250 diesel Lariat I bought for my husband. He wrecked it, hit small stuff, ran it hot and almost blew the engine, cost us $4500 to get it fixed, plus getting it stuck and other mishaps. 212000 miles and it still runs. Miracles happen.
Right now it has an oil leak somewhere...
Loaded up 13 lambs last night. Left out at 4:30 AM. I’ve unloaded, went to cafe, had breakfast and coffee! I’m at the Emory livestock Auction, 3 hours from home. It’s the closest good auction for sheep and goats.
With just me to feed, I don’t consume a lot. I raise meat chickens, sell some to customers who pay me well, so I give chicken to my DD and family. What we eat is free, covered by what I sell. I have feral hog meat, got so much that I gave most of it away. Free meat. I’m keeping a few lambs to...
Have gotten 4” of rain spread out over the last 4 days. I need to go fuel up my truck, check air in tires, and try to get stock trailer out of the field. Taking lambs to auction on Saturday.
Fall gardens are possible, we don’t usually get a killing frost until November. BUT that generally requires planting in August when the heat rivals the fires of Gehenna. Maybe add an air conditioner to your pseudo greenhouse?
