will it be too hot if you plant later?
It may be but I'm going to try. I tucked a couple seeds into a big ol' tub today so time will tell.

Tomorrow, if it's not raining, I'll take the old squash plants out of that bed and try to figure out something else to put there. Wonder what some late planted corn would do? Burn up maybe? I'm in the mood to experiment. I could always plant more okra...it's a given in the heat.

Fall gardens are possible
Absolutely! Love my cole crops. Never been successful with fall tomatoes though - I'll give it another try this year and see what happens.

Plans for winter are to cover the screen house with plastic and see if I can have a winter greenhouse. Might put my 'maters in there.

The screen house has a small shade factor - not much - maybe 5%. Don't know if that'll help at all, but I'm gonna pretend that it does. Of course, fixing one problem often leads to another. Saw a dang mouse in there the other day and there was a bite outta one of the 'maters. ARGH!!!

After the six inches of rain Monday we had another 4.5 inches yesterday. Boo! It's a little soggy out there.
