And one thing leads to another, which leads to another, which leads to another.... so one day the guberment will tell you what you are ALLOWED to grow in your own garden. Raw milk is just the tip of the ice burg.
Found this bottle at Goodwill today, $1.06. It's not old, but still pretty cool. I think I'll use it for pepper vinegar. Can anyone tell me what the writing says? It obviously contained a homemade product.
I have arthritis in my fingers. It's funny, but peeling even a couple of pounds of potatoes or apples really bothers me, but kneading bread feels good to my hands and fingers.
Well, I guess I'm just plain lazy then, 'cause I'm tired of peeling, coring, and slicing bushels of apples (not to mention the time it takes). Do you see something wrong with investing in a tool to save labor and time? :hu
I don't remember what brand mine is (bought it as Bealls), but it's small - holds about 4 cups. It's plenty big enough as far as prepping for meals and making sauces, and for salsa I just have to fill it twice, no biggie. I guess it depends on what you think you'll use it for. If I was depending...

I have been making farmer's cheese too, but I don't know how it compares to store-bought. I've been very happy with mine. But the goat cheese you buy in a store is probably not farmer's cheese, but made with rennet.
I have someone who brings me apples in the fall from Tennessee. Yes, they are big enough to justify a peeler/corer/slicer. Sounds like Pampered Chef it is. I saw the wood stand on their website. Worth the extra money?
Thanks! I just checked it out online... in my price range and it looks nice and sturdy. I have numerous Pampered Chef stuff, knives, pizza stones, etc. and really like them.
I'm looking to purchase one and have been looking at reviews, but each brand has some excellent reviews plus some "don't buy" reviews. So I'm confused. Any thoughts on a good brand that won't break?
