    Homemade Fabric Softener?

I'm very willing to try white vinegar in with the rinse water. My cleaning supplies consist of baking soda, vinegar, and borax anyway  Well, and the Fels Naptha for the laundry soap ;) And this stuff was dried on hangers in the house, and then just moved to my closet - not line dried...

Making oil from plastic (at home)

There was a link underneath the video that talked more about it. Unfortunately, the company only makes them for industrial use right now (but feel to contact them and ask about personal use machines); 60+ machines in place throughout Japan and worldwide, it said.

    Homemade Fabric Softener?

The static cling (mostly) shows up when I go to take the clothes off, but it's still annoying :/

    Homemade Fabric Softener?

I like saving electricity by hang-drying most of my clothes. I DON'T like the static cling. What can I put in my rinse water to help? (I've been using dryer sheets not liquid fabric softener.)

    Taxes!!

Just a side note (from a paid tax preparer ;) ), IF you itemize, and a handful of other things, this year you have to wait until 28 Feb to file - due to the last minute extensions of some of the tax credits that were set to expire. So the systems have to be set up to handle 'em.\ And I've never...

What does your user name mean?

Yeah! I'd actually been thinking about starting this very thread for a couple days now - great minds think alike :) I'm Beth, short for Elizabeth. Couple of my high school friends called me Bethly, but that was taken when I went to sign up for an e-mail address. Another friend always called me...

    Make your own washing soda

Since this seems to get lost in the other thread ;) , I'm gonna post it here: Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, washing soda is sodium carbonate. It's a very easy chemical change we can do at home. Bake your baking soda for one hour at 250*. I found this at this blog post, which has a link to...

what jobs work around kids' school hours?

For right now, you could get seasonal work doing taxes, working in a tax office; if it's a chain-type place, you'll take a test to make sure you're not an idiot, and they'll schedule you around what hours you say you can work. I did that couple years ago. This year I'm doing it in a different...
