Been a busy week at work. Not much going on here. Last Thursday night we had some heavy rain - very little lightning and wind. Rain gauge said 3.5 inches, got it all in about 45 minutes .

Tried the non bourbon baked beans for lunch today. Will make more of this recipe, for sure.

I haven't tried the dry canning method. The wife didn't care for the potatoes I canned in water. Will await your results.

Sad... Every Spring, residents living next to the rivers flowing into Lake Erie deal with flooding from the ice breaking up and forming ice dams. Listening to the flooded homeowners cry about this happening every few years makes me question their logic.

We now have quite the group of hummingbird visitors to both the flowers and the feeders (yeah, we bought a second one). Lolol It's fun watching them. I was filling one feeder this morning and a ruby throat nearly landed on my shoulder. He was all "come on dude, get that buffet set up."...

Unfortunately, chicken was not on sale. Down to about 10 pints left in the larder. This exercise will add back in about 20 pints. Since I have the canner out, beans were an obvious choice

~15 pounds of chicken cut up and ready to load up and run through the canner. 3 batches of baked beans (1 of which is with the bourbon infused sorghum) baking in the oven. Everything prepped before 10 am this morning.
