Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

We get lucky in that much of it makes a hole and goes around us. Really weird because 4 miles away will get the brunt of it. Only half an inch yesterday but town was much heavier. 3 inches forecast for us on Monday with another 2 on Tuesday

    What's for dinner?

Pulled pork sandwiches. Little 3 pound shoulder roast into the pressure cooker for 2.5 hours. Some rub on it and liquid smoke mixed in the water. Turned out way better than hubby was expecting. Plenty left for later.

What are you having for Thanksgiving dinner?

Traditional. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, and candied sweet potatoes. Mom does a lot and I help out on prep and cooking. So I only needed to supply drinks which travel easier. I'm supposed to check sweet potato prices at the store or we'll have canned. I think I...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

I'd say Partridge with 2 copies of lavender, but those usually have some faded grey in the crest. Blue cream is usually more pigmented but it could be that. Kind of reminds me of the satin hen I have which I don't know what's going on with. She's white with just a bit of peach. From partridge...

What’s the Most Unexpected Plumbing Problem You’ve Ever Dealt With?

Very high iron water. Issue around here. We don't have a big enough well house to put in a settlement tank. Most people just deal with it

What’s the Most Unexpected Plumbing Problem You’ve Ever Dealt With?

Hose on hot water outlet burst in middle of night Saturday. That was fun. Good thing I get up to pee. Turned off well and heater to deal with in daylight. Got hose replaced. All good. Tiny trickle of hot water in faucets. Drained tank yesterday and flushed. No improvement. Figured we'd need to...

    What's for dinner?

Expensive dinner tonight. Ran about $35 for both of us. That's mostly just the meat cost. Hubby really wanted to try the prime ribeye cap steaks. Very tender and tasty. Added Brussels sprouts and a baked sweet potato
