    What's for dinner?

Baked sweet potato for me. DH is having a snack plate with cheese, crackers and some pickled veggies. What's wrong with us, lol. Actually, we're doing intermittent fasting. We generally eat between noon and 6ish pm. That means breakfast at noon, sometimes we have a snack around 3 and a...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

I should be set now! Going outside in a few to go ahead and milk another doe - just for grins. She'll be one of my milkers this year so might as well start now. It won't hurt at all to have some milk in the freezer or to add to the pig feed. I'm sure they'll appreciate it. Weather is sucky...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Boo! I feel your pain. Lotsa wind here...day started with 40+mph gusts, has settle down a little bit. Only 20ish gusts now. Cold, but no rain. Kinda not loving it!

Cheese, crackers, and cherry tomatoes for me. Tuna, cheese and crackers for DH. Didn't feel much like cooking or eating so it was just enough.

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

This morning I milked the two bigger goats that kidded yesterday. Need to get my stock of colostrum built back up in the freezer. Didn't have anything except some that was a couple years old. Now I'm restocked! I'll keep milking these two gals at least once a day to keep their supply up so...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

WEll, my girls decided to cooperate today. The gal hiding in the hay bales delivered buck/doe twins AND another doe decided to bless me with two more bucklings. That puts the baby count at 6 boys - two girls. I'm ok with it because I'm not planning on keeping anything this year unless it's...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

The myotonic doe had a pretty little doeling - cuteness overload for sure! However, today mama has a bad case of diarrhea...sigh. That's what she gets for being such a hog at the feed trough I guess. Or, maybe because I wormed her or maybe just because she wants to be a PIA, lol. She's...

Grands are leaving today. I'm heartbroken. :( DGS leaves for basic training 1-12-26. The next time I see him will be at graduation from basic training the end of March. DS, DDIL, DH and I are planning to drive out. Nobody wants to fly, lol. It's a 15+ hour drive. With DH going we'll...

    Old-time Holiday Traditions

My grandmother always made fruitcake cookies.... that's enough about that, lol. Mom and I made homemade chocolate covered mints. The mints had to be rolled into little balls then dipped into melted chocolate. If we were really ambitious we'd roll 'em in crushed peppermint sticks. They were...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

We're having a great visit! fished a little yesterday and today we're going to eat chili and watch football. After the Texans play we'll do our gift exchange. Grandson is a Dallas Cowboy fan...as far as I can tell it's his only flaw, lol! Houston Texans play after that game. Go Texans...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Woo Hoo - grands got here yesterday evening. DS and DIL came to welcome them. We had fresh, hot chicken and dumplings waiting. Good food, good company and lots of stories told around the dining room table. I never feel happier than when the kids are here! :love

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

We've survived our cold snap and our first little freeze a few days ago. We're in for a 10-day stretch of warmth. It was 63 degrees at wake up! Forecast is for 80 on Christmas day. I'm not gonna complain a bit!
