You could always toss some broccoli in that mix as it is now, add some more cheese 😁 even some bacon bits!

Now there's something I like to keep on hand, real bacon bits. (My prepared food indulgence) Some days I want those in/on a dish & not wanting to actually cook up bacon. Yeah, a fast and tasty add on. But I do cook up bacon -- gotta fill the grease jar -- and normally a whole package at a once. Summer esp...BLT time :drool :drool 😁

we do keep a bag of that on hand, we both like it instead of having to cook strips and also like not having to deal with the grease as we don't cook that way very often where i'd use it.

Grandma, of course, never threw anything away and would use it on her homemade bread when it was done and also used it as their butter during The Great Depression along with potatoes and onions, basic staple of life and living on a farm.

dang it, stupid smoke detectors started up again yesterday, asked Mom to pick up some fresh batteries on her way home. she ended up not having any money with her at all so when she got home we ran out to the local store and got some and of course since we were both hungry loaded up on junk food and i even got some eggnog. i haven't had that for a year or two so ok, we were set. :)

today i got up there and replaced the battery hoping that would take care of the problem. if it doesn't i'm going to redo that one with an isolated battery only operated one and then it won't be influenced at all by the wiring (which may be iffy at this point - i don't know for sure), but if i have to do that i'll also install some kind of vapor barrier up there to keep it better sealed up. it may just be that the smoke in the air from the local wood burning people is what is setting it off or making it more sensitive. again, i don't really know... ugh...

at least i can climb up and down the ladder ok and get to that smoke detector - so we count our small blessings and get back to reading a book about aliens. :)
