Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

When we were building our home in Murphys CA, we bought an old, well used 5th wheel. Lived in it for almost a year, and then sold it off.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

The boss of the canning dept where I'm asst super, had her grandson go off to Basic. (she raised him since he was 5). He had to go to Conditioning school first, cus the only thing fit about him were his thumbs. He graduated in Dec and is off to his first post. If he can do it, so can your GS.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I got a call from one of the two ladies who share their Costco pickups with me. It was about 4:30. A man in a UHaul showed up to her farm with food. LOTS OF FOOD. Turns out, its Sunshine Division, down in Portland. https://sunshinedivision.org/history/ This old man was tasked with driving...

    WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

I just put four cases of Costco mushrooms, 12 containers per case, on the Food Bank outdoor bench yesterday. I've dehydrated, freeze dried, but never canned. Did you use a Ball or other approved recipe for canning mushrooms?

    Old-time Holiday Traditions

One of my fav cookies that Mother used to make were North Dakota Rocks. The recipe used seeded muscat raisins. About 10 years ago, I couldn't find muscat raisins anywhere. So I called the Raisin Board - the org that markets all sorts of raisins. An older gentleman told me that the demand for...

    Old-time Holiday Traditions

Grandfather Ehly, when they would visit us from Philly, would string a huge cowbell across the hallway. That way the 4 of us couldn't get to the tree. I continued that tradition with my kids. I still have the bell!!

A huge wind storm came thru at 1a.m.ish yesterday. We lost power at 1:30. It came back on at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. In the meantime, we had an OSHU appt for eye oncology at 10:20 this morning. I called them to see if they were open and yes, the entire hill had electricity. Hubs is healing...

They are alot more high tech than even a few years ago. App for this, website for that. I prefer to enter things on my laptop, but I found yesterday that I had to enter photos from an app from my phone. Yes, they can teach an old dog new tricks.

    What's for dinner?

I'm feeling poor lately. SS isn't covering our purchases, which are out of control. I used to do alot of Mystery Shopping back in 2018, 10 and early 20. It made ends meet for me, since I was delaying my SS until age 67. I did two Panda express shops today, and the two meals I ordered (and get...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I wonder what type of deer we have down here. "Eat all the vegetation in site" type, for sure. @Hinotori : we got 0.9" of rain between midnight and 5:30 a.m. I had to take hubs for a colonoscopy at 6 a.m., and boy was it hard to drive at that hour, with pouring rain and standing water.
