my knees are usuall ok, they don't normally hurt unless i do something stupid to them. my left-knee will start to hurt if i don't get exercise - which is an old left-over from a motorcycle wipeout. if i gradually ramp things up i can usually avoid too many troubles. :)

it was warm, actually warm outside! i went out and did a little weeding to get a jump on a few speedwells and grasses that were going to drop seeds or spread more before i would likely be able to get back to them so it was a good time to spend a half hour and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine...

i can't really say all i'd like about what is going on these days with the medical profession but what i can say is often it appears that they are piling on more tests just so they can send more paperwork to the insurance companies. hope you can get more things done that you want and can do...

maybe some peas in a few weeks! :) first beans that you won't mind losing too about then, if you have plenty of seeds it's worth a shot for some early beans. mostly have to play it by what the forecast says as if it is going to be too cold too often it will still be better to wait.

often the hardest thing on smaller lots and especially in the city is getting enough full sunlight between the house casting shadows and the trees that are often around. some garden plants are just not that productive when there is too much shading going on...

sunny, windy and cold -- if i'd had coffee i would have felt it more...

i went out for a few minutes to check out the gardens and take a few pictures. pretty cold and windy but also sunny. we have flowers up (at least four of the early spring flowers): yellow and purple crocuses and blue and purple bulb irises. i checked out the cedar trees that the deer munched...

from the freezer. mashed potatoes, stuffing, chuck roast, mushrooms/mushroom gravy. we're trying to get the freezer mostly empty so it can be cleaned, it's not been this empty in a long time. kinda weird lookin'.

i went for a quick walk to the corner and back and on the way there i saw some stuff along the road to pick up on the way back. various things, a few 1oz bottles of booze, old lighter, part of a headlight, empty water bottle, pull top off a can, and a music cd and a bit later a broken music cd...

might be nice enough today to get out for a short walk. :)

well that's a different version of cutting off their heads and peeing down their neck but ok i can accept that expression of personal growth and the can do attitude that makes this country the great one it is... yes, i am a pacifist, but i also know my ancestors...

i was growing roses as a kid... my version of giving at the office.

it's also the shape of the road here which is a crown so the plows end up having their blades angled down into the dirt at the edges instead of flat. they make a mess of the end of the driveway each year. :(
