Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Going for second cup. Yesterday I took tractor over to son’s house and mowed. My dog Carson went too. He got hot and worn out just laying in the shade. Came home, got a good drink, sat down to cool off and took a nap. Carson was tired too. Unloaded tractor, dropped flatbed and took Buford for a...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Coffee is ready. Got 4 1/2” of rain in 3 hours yesterday. Road flooded and is probably washed out in places. Today will be too wet, county crew is off on Fridays, and it starts raining again on Monday. I just hope Central and West Texas is getting rain.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I have the 2004 Ford F250 diesel Lariat I bought for my husband. He wrecked it, hit small stuff, ran it hot and almost blew the engine, cost us $4500 to get it fixed, plus getting it stuck and other mishaps. 212000 miles and it still runs. Miracles happen. Right now it has an oil leak somewhere...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Loaded up 13 lambs last night. Left out at 4:30 AM. I’ve unloaded, went to cafe, had breakfast and coffee! I’m at the Emory livestock Auction, 3 hours from home. It’s the closest good auction for sheep and goats.

What small habit changes have saved you the most money over time?

With just me to feed, I don’t consume a lot. I raise meat chickens, sell some to customers who pay me well, so I give chicken to my DD and family. What we eat is free, covered by what I sell. I have feral hog meat, got so much that I gave most of it away. Free meat. I’m keeping a few lambs to...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Fall gardens are possible, we don’t usually get a killing frost until November. BUT that generally requires planting in August when the heat rivals the fires of Gehenna. Maybe add an air conditioner to your pseudo greenhouse?

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Memories from 2016, BJ’s first time in Buc-ees. We clowned around with a silly pair of boxer shorts. And yes, after wearing them around in the store, and getting some funny looks, we bought them. Good times. 💔

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

@FarmerJamie what did you think of Buc-ees? It is an experience. They sell all that food, but absolutely no place to sit down and eat it. It’s all about gas up, go to bathroom, shop all the crazy stuff, get something to eat and hit the road again.
