It is so windy here today... the forecast was for today to be the worst... it seems to be, but it has been windy the last 3 days.... Chilly with temps up to 64... If you make the bags a little big for small amounts, or use the premade ones, go to the bigger size, and then when you cut off the sealed end, you can usually reuse them at least once more after washing and all. Another tip I use is to write what they are on the end above the "seal line" so...

The wet mash is a good way to get more eggs in the cold winter... mix it with hot water, don't make too much, and they will clean it up and it helps to get more water into their system and is warm in the crop on top of it... We had that temp swing.... 61 Wed during the day... woke up to 25 this (Thursday) morning... Had .3 inch rain in the afternoon into evening then the cold swept in on some really bad gusty wind... Took a big dead tree down at the farm across driveway, and a smaller dead one next to the smaller...

@CrealCritter ; We try to calve in 2 groups... a spring group and a fall group... avoiding June/July/most of August... the worst of the heat... and Dec/Jan/early Feb....worst winter weather USUALLY.....and we are just too busy with hay making and such in summer...... Plus my garden keeps me...
