I am feeling a lot better about the chickens. I tend to overthink a lot of things, not just chickens! Found a place to get the chicks, and hope they have the buckeyes. Will try the deep litter method, and take it from there! Thank you!

Hey there. I've never killed one yet. I will eventually when we get them. But once the rabbit is processed, I fry them like a chicken. Bread them in a bit of flour, salt, and pepper. Then fry them in hot oil. I love rabbit. Very tasty and not gamey at all. Good luck. You can do this!!

Okay. You all have been awesome with me and my infernal questions. I now have a breed to get (Buckeyes) great idea for a coop, (trying to draw one up on the CAD with Hubby's help) how to water and feed them, and now all I have to do is well,.....do it!! :D

Thank you for the info. I think I am going to try growing some inside this winter in my bay window in pots. At least to get them started. I will try the food ones and the lavender for sure. Any other things I should consider? Also want to grow garlic inside.

So you buy some mealworns, do the bedding and newspaper, and wait for them to grow? I am confused on the calcium/phosphorus ratio. How do you know how much of each, and how do you feed calcium to a worm? Grind up the eggshells? Sorry to sound dense....seems to be happening to me a lot on this...

What about a pair of cotton socks next to your feet, and the wool socks over those? Just a thought. The cotton is good for helping with sweaty feet, and they would keep the wool from touching your feet and skin.
