I just found 300 beer bottles outside the recycling center dumpsters. I have NO IDEA what to do with 300 beer bottles, but we'll see. If all fails I can just return them!

If you have or can build a cold frame you can have veggies year round. I'm building one out of 2 old windows from my dining room. Here is a link that explains how to build one I would plant cold hardy crops like pak choi or something similar.
