I'm sure you have heard of Oxy/Acetylene welding and cutting. The gas that is produced by Calcium Carbide when mixed with water is acetylene. The world uses thousands of cubic feet of it every day. I wonder if the carbide tank you remember was used to generate acetylene for some purpose.Neko-chan said:The family ranch used to have a carbide tank.
