2025 Resolutions

I have a early year resolution! Heal up from my own stupidity. February 2, I hurt my back with an accumulation of overwork of heavy stuff, wound up in ER in great pain. Flat on my back for a week, gradually got better, then realized I had another problem, inguinal hernia, in the groin. Surgery next week on the 18th, then I'll be down for another month. I resolve to never do this again. I resolve to take rest days to recover from what I do to myself. My son has been between jobs, he is a crane operator, and has been a blessing to me. He has one that will be calling the first of April, but I have someone lined up to come take care of animals for me if I'm not able.

I have been slapped in the face and whole body that I am not 10 feet tall and bulletproof. I am 9 feet tall and liable to catch a .22 slug now and then.

I broke my resolution..........y'all knew that was coming, right?
I had surgery, sat in my recliner, watched thistles grow and bloom....... I HATE thistles. I finally felt good enough that I got the mule, loppers and 2 leaf bags. I lopped thistles, put them in the bags. I left the bags in the back of the mule so I wouldn't lift them. That was last week. Rest period. Yesterday I lopped more thistles, 2 more bags. Thistle blooms were turning brown, about to burst open and release a trillion seeds to float on the breeze, so I finished the field, 2 more bags. I dropped the tailgate on the mule so that I did not LIFT them and dragged them out.

This morning I'm sore. Not painful, just extra sore. I will not work outside today or tomorrow! I'll drive the 5 hours to Corpus Christi to watch middle granddaughter in a school play and drive back tomorrow. I'm gonna call that a rest period.

I reset my appointment with the surgeon to next week so I can go to the play. I have an appointment Friday afternoon for a MRI for the pinched nerve I also gifted myself with. Friday morning I take my sister in law to therapy, take her home, then go back to Lufkin for my appointment. I'm gonna call Friday another rest day.
