I am using some of the first batch, I love it, makes me want to shower 3 or 4 times a day. :/ The bars are hard now, well, harder than Ivory anyway. The chocolate ones were still a bit soft to use this morning, so maybe tomorrow. I superfatted this one by 3% and I don't think I should have, going by how nice the first batch is at 0% superfat.
I read somewhere that after 48 hours out of the mold, soap is 99.9% of the soap that it will ever be, it just has some extra water in it that hasn't evaporated yet.
I'd be concerned about the ph. Everything that I have read says that soap needs to cure. Well, obviously not glycerin soap, etc. I always mark it on the calendar when my soap is supposed to be ready to use.
I had visions of you having to douse yourself w/ vinegar. :/
My soap buddy and I want to try some of the chocolate soap bars, too. They look so cool, huh.
All my soap books say let them set for a month to six weeks. I haven't made any myself yet. I've just been buying from local soap makers.
I have issues with a lot of junk in the commercial "soaps". I use ivory when I can't get any local soaps. I've found that it lasts much longer if you let it set for a while and dry some.
