Ours is thirty years old, and we also have the one that belonged to my dad's mother. I have no idea how old it is - she died in the early 40s. It is the one we used when I was growing up, and I still use it sometimes. Last year, we took both to the local extension office to have the gauges tested. The 'new' one was spot on, and the older one was off by two pounds, so we just take that into account.
You will get years of use from it. Enjoy!
