Do you have any SS books in your library already?
My personal library yes. But the public library doesnt have any.
I have a bunch of FFA and Storey Guides plus general books about homesteading. And some veggie books.

Money!!!! And someone who needs it to give it to! That has become the biggest enjoyment I have for Christmas now that my kids are grown.

Making someone's Christmas a time of hope is about the best thing I could imagine getting this year~I have everything I could possibly need. :)

Surgery for my nose. I would love to be able to get air through it again.. And maybe be able to smell. And for the swelling to go down around my eyes and nose. Some days it gets very painful.

But I know it will never happen. They want $6,000 down. Thats half of the surgery cost. And that doesnt pay all the fees either. Theres still some hospital fees and the person that puts you to sleep fees. Way costly.

But I can dream cant I..
Take a plane ride to Columbia. You can get it done for about $900.
They have very good doctors.

My sister recently disowned half the family - We usually draw names so there was a big hubbub about what we would do. I suggested we pool together the money that we would spend on each other, and give to a charity instead.

Think anyone liked that idea? Nope! We're now giving each other items instead.
So now when I'm on eBay buying gifts, when you go to pay they have a donation option with different sponsors, so I'll be doing that each time I buy something.. Not much but even a little is better than none, right?

So, my list includes;

-Buying Country Land by Peggy Tonseth
-Your Money or Your Life: Transforming Your Relationship with Money and Achieving Financial Independence by Vicki Robin
-Build Your Own Earth Oven by Kiko Denzer
-A Reasonable Life: Toward a Simpler, Secure, More Humane Existence by Ferenc Mate.
-Goats Produce Too by Mary Jane Toth
And
-Alternative Treatments for Ruminant Animals by Paul Dettloff

This reminds me... There was a forum I was on and they used to do a 'Secret Santa' holiday thing. Everyone PMed a person with their names and addresses and that person mixed and matched and gave out the names secrets.. so no one knew who they were getting a gift from. Wouldn't that be a cool idea to do? And instead we used strictly homemade items? Yes? No?

I would love pretty much anything to help with my new adventures in gardening / canning.

It's funny the first post was about a wheelbarrow, because that is what I have mentioned to my folks.

I'd also like good waterhose / soaker hose, more canning jars / lids, blender and a handmixer, heirloom seeds.

If anyone in my family strikes it rich between now and Christmas, I'd like a shed and a deep freezer.

Each year I donate to a charity - this year I will be giving to Heifer Int'l. Last year it was Houston SPCA. Also each year I buy boxes of citrus from the local high school marching band and I put them out near a local homeless camp. I may take my nephews with me this year.

All I want for Christmas is a sober hubby.
