Lately I've been having horrible allergy issues. I *think* most of it is due to the hay I feed since I'm feeding a large round bale and particles go airborn when I'm trying to fork it out and feed. I really can't stop feeding my animals, so I try to deal with it the best I can. Before I took allergy meds, I would get terribly itchy eyes, sneeze constantly, and have a very runny nose after feeding. My barn is pretty dusty as well, and sometimes I'll sneeze and have a runny nose when I wake up in the morning. I'd take benadryl or suffer through it. I started taking Zyrtec daily, which has helped some but I still have issues.

I've also been getting headaches lately, at work and at home, and I'm not sure if it's related or a separate issue. Besides donning a mask and goggles and gloves when I feed (not very practical), what else can I try? I do have local raw honey which I can make a point to eat some of every day. My sister mentioned bee pollen. What is it exactly and how would I use it?

Is there anything else that I can try to help the allergies? I do have a netti pot, but I dont' recall it helping that much with the allergies.

Fermented Cod Liver Oil and Acerola Powder are the go too products in the Traditional Food world for seasonal allergies.
Also, eating local bee pollen will help as well.

I'll be watching this thread too. I suffer from terrible seasonal head aches and allergies. I started with allergy issues when I turned 55 and have been getting much worse each year since. Doctors are useless when it comes to my situation. People told me that a Netti Pot was the answer to all my problems. Yeah right! I have tried all sorts of brews in it with no success at all. :barnie

My allergies were getting worse and worse every year. Then I went low carb and I saw a slight improvement. Then I started supplementing with fish oil. THAT did the trick. I do sometimes get flareups, but I am not walking around with red itchy eyes all the time and a snotty nose :D

I just get the ones at Sam's. I know there are better brands, but I can afford the Sam's fish oil. I take 4 pills/day.
